How to Treat Your Skin after the Sun

The city opens up more, and people start taking off a face mask while outside. I personally wear a face mask to reduce seasonal allergy reactions and, most importantly, protect my skin from UV Rays.

It was a bit while ago, I noticed a girl whose cheeks were super red and blotchy. She wasn't my client, but I have known her for a little while. I learned through our conversation that she had too much sun on the weekend. I've already noticed her signs of redness and sensitivity on her cheeks and was curious about how she treats her skin daily. So I used this as an opportunity to ask how to take care of her skin daily.

She told me that she used witch hazel as a toner and double wash her skin even though she noticed her skin gets dry after cleansings. I told her not to do double washing also stop using witch hazel as a toner, and apply Aloe Vera Gel instead.

Two weeks later, I saw her again. Her skin calmed down and almost cleared up blotchiness. She said she did what I told her. :)

The skin gets dehydrated by sun exposure. Not only your body needs hydration and also your skin! The wrong skincare gives unexpected skin damages. Imagine these happened at the same time! I want to reduce to share an aromatic recipe: Sun Burn Gel. You can use it as a daily toner, too.

Sun Burn Gel.

Ingredient:

  • Aloe Vera Gel ............................................................................ 1 TBSP + 1 tsp

  • Chamomile Hydrosol ........................................................... 1 tsp

  • Lavender Hydrosol ................................................................ 1 tsp

  • Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) ........................... 4 drops

  • Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) ...... 2 drops

I don't want to add a preservative, so this is a small amount (2 oz)

You can mix all ingredients and transfer them to a spray bottle.

I recommend using a high grade of ingredients for maximum results.

Please stay safe and healthy. Also, at the same time, protect your skin while enjoying this gorgeous weather.
